So the next time you’re out and about and looking for something to eat around Springfield, let Green Dodge make the decision for you. And, if you’re here for the summer and looking for fun activities, discover our list of favorite Springfield events and festivals, or check out our favorite Abraham Lincoln spots!
Charlie Parker’s Diner
Established in 1992, Charlie Parker’s Diner is a proud, locally owned, independent diner popularized by local lovers of a good diner and world-famous Guy Fieri. Grand Champion in the Thomas’ Hometown Breakfast Battle, repeatedly named Illinois Times Best Breakfast and Best Restaurant Off the Beaten Path, Charlie Parker’s Diner has something for everyone. It’s tough to go wrong with one of their daily specials, but if we had to pick a go-to choice, it would be one of Charlie’s Famous Horseshoes.
Great for a snack or a quick bite to eat with some friends, Cafe Moxo specializes in sandwiches, salads, soups, and wraps. With a menu based around having something for each diner, Cafe Moxo is sure to be good for parents with those kids who are picky eaters, and it’s a great option for anyone with dietary restrictions who wants to feel like they have a whole menu open to them. If you need somewhere to start, we’re fans of the Pesto Caprese and Yankee Doodle sandwiches.
Engrained Brewery and Restaurant
Engrained is more than just a restaurant, as you can tell from the name. With an on-site brewery, you can combine local drinks with sustainable food bought from local farmers. Built around the ideas of the small family farm, owner and brewmaster Brent Schwoerer has cultivated a unique fixture in our community. We suggest you start with their signature cheese curds and then move on to one of their Farmhouse Burgers.
It’s a good old-fashioned mash-up: Springfield eatery meets Irish fare. D’Arcy’s Pint has hearty Irish favorites like roasted salmon and corned beef and cabbage, but you’ll also find a unique take on the Springfield Horseshoe sandwich.
American Harvest Eatery
True to the region with foods true to each season, American Harvest Eatery is a treasure, sourcing ingredients from Illinois farmers and encouraging sustainability through endorsing those local family farms. As a chef-driven restaurant, every member of their staff is well-versed in their menu and able to match your taste buds to their flavor profiles. Where to start at American Harvest Eatery? The menu changes by the season, so we recommend you simply go in and be ready to be pleasantly surprised.
