2020 Dodge Charger driving in snow

It’s winter in Springfield, and residents of the midwest know that the snow is no joke. Snow and slush crowd roadways and make even the most experienced drivers think twice before going out. In the past, Dodge Charger owners had to pack their vehicles away during the winter months because of the snowy terrain, but with the announcement of the breakout 2020 Dodge Charger GT in AWD, things have changed in the midwest for better. Promising to tackle the snow without compromising it’s performance, the Dodge Charger GT has announced an AWD option so you can take your Charger dashing through the snow as you go to work, run errands, or (safely) drift through snow banks. Read more about the new 2020 Dodge Charger GT AWD performance and features below, then contact us with your questions!

Dodge Charger GT AWD: Performance

Muscle car enthusiasts know that the RWD in vehicles like the Dodge Charger are essential to its performance and the power it provides. It’s understandable, then, that drivers are skeptical that the Charger all-wheel drive won’t compromise the vehicle’s performance capabilities. However, with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine with 300 hp, 264 lb-ft of torque, and the option to turn off the AWD, the Charger’s ability to give Chatham drivers the thrill of a lifetime is sure to stay in tact. Part of this is due to the Charger being able to shift seamlessly between RWD and AWD when encountering rough or smooth terrain. On smooth roads, the Charger GT will remain in RWD, pushing out 100% of its performance. AWD will engage when sensors indicate the need for additional traction. Drivers also have the option to manually engage the AWD by pressing the “Sport” button.

Dodge Charger GT AWD: Features

The advanced drivetrain isn’t the only thing the 2020 Dodge Charger GT AWD has to offer. Performance features that help control the Charger on snowy and slushy terrain help maintain traction and anticipate driver assistance. We’ve outlined a few of the new features for you below:

  • Vehicle Dynamic Control System: This system provides additional traction on slippery roads to help the driver stay in their lane and on their intended path.
  • Three-Mode Electronic Stability Control: This system engages to keep drivers safe when they’re not ready to drift through wintery scenes in Rochester. However, the system can be completely switched off for when you’re ready to have some additional winter weather fun.
  • Super Track Pak: This system activates Performance Pages and Launch Control Features so you can see details like reaction times, 0-60 speed, G-force indicator, lap times, and more!

No matter how you decide to drive your Charger through the snow, you’ll be sure to have a thrilling time with its raw engine power and performance features.
